MAY 18th - CD RELEASE

TARANTUELA
CD RELEASE
GOOD LUCK-BLACK CAT-BAD LUCK
FRIDAY MAY 18th, 2012 | 9pm | $10
Horseshoe Tavern

Cameron House Records is pleased to announce the debut studio release of swamp rock outfit, Tarantuela.

On Friday May 18th at the Horseshoe Tavern, Tarantuela will be joined by Devin Cuddy and The Silver Hearts to release "Good Luck-Black Cat-Bad Luck."

This marks the third release from the rapidly growing upstart Toronto record label.

Good Luck-Black Cat-Bad Luck was recorded in the band's hometown of Peterborough, Ontario, at Pirate Radio Studios. James Mckenty of The Spades, who also recently worked with Greg Keelor (Blue Rodeo), Travis Good (The Sadies), and Gordon Pinsent on Down and Out in Upalong, engineered, mixed, as well as co-produced the record with Tarantuela.

Tarantuela draw on country, blues, and folk to create a distinct rock n’ roll sound, made instantly recognizable by the bluesy howl of front-man Jay Swinnerton. The band’s songs run the gamut from vocal driven ballads to riff-based rockers, filled with infectious hooks and fiery licks that stay with you for days. Bellowing horns and honky-tonk piano are also featured on a number of tracks.

The band includes songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, Jay Swinnerton - (Lead Vocals/Rhythm Acoustic and Electric Guitars/Piano/Organ/ Tambourine), Rob Viscardis- Lead Guitar/Vocals, Jamie Muir - Organ, Piano/Vocals, Marty Kerslake - Bass Guitar/Vocals, and Steve Kerslake- Drums/Vocals.

Their live shows are always captivating. As Tarantuela take to the stage, what strikes you immediately is how tight they are as a band. The five lads from Peterborough weave in and out of the spotlight seamlessly, as melodic verses burst into raucous bar-room choruses. Wailing guitars, three-part harmonies, electric organ, and a bruising back-beat pour forth from the stage, stopping and starting with head-turning precision, as they pull you over the precipice and onto the dance floor.
